Lots of news coming out this week with Andy Serkis reportedly in news to direct the new sequel for Tom Hardy’s Venom.
This news comes off the backs that Serkis himself has confirmed that he has had meetings with Sony executives for taking over directional duties for the sequel, with rumors last month that Serkis, Travis Knight (Bumblebee) and Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) were all favorites for the job.
With Tom Hardy taking to Twitter to post pics of Serkis there isn’t much there that actually says he’s the new director, but why would he be posting photos of him for any other reason?
Well, yesterday Serkis himself took to Instagram to post the little beauty below.
“The Symbiote has found a host in me, and I’m ready for the ride.” well if that’s not a little hint that he’s gonna be taking place next to Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson as a symbiote himself then I don’t know what is.
Now Serkis could also be directing and acting, which wouldn’t be the first time someone’s done that by any means, but I do think its a bit risky seeing as how he’s only directed a handful of things, one of them being Netflix’s Mowgli. However with Rupert Wyatt also with his name in the ring I think this would be a smart move with both of them working together on Planet of the Apes.
Either way, whether its acting or directing I’ve loved Serkis in everything that he’s been in and I’m sure this will be no exception.
