Are you ready for a new Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi trilogy?

While everyone is all tied up in the Episode VII rumours, it looks like there may be another Star Wars trilogy in production… possibly.

According to the website Cinelinx, there could be rumblings in the Force in the form of a new Obi-Wan Kenobi trilogy starring Ewan McGregor as the Jedi Knight.

The movies are apparently a priority for Disney and Lucasfilm and would take place between Episodes III and IV.

However, the movies wouldn’t be a completely interwoven trilogy but rather three separate stories featuring him with one taking place entirely on Tatooine and the other two taking place off-planet somewhere. But, here’s the part that gets us excited – obviously if there’s anything to it – it seems the movies could feature Darth Maul, Qui-Gon Jinn and characters from the Clone Wars; could this be the true wrapping up of the Darth Maul arc from the Clone Wars series?

While we can’t stress enough that this is HEAVY RUMOUR territory, we’d be liars if we didn’t think there’s more stories to tell with this character/these characters and it would be wonderful to see them on the big screen again as many of us here feel that McGregor really only felt like Obi-Wan in episode III.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
