At least two more Star Trek movies are coming…

April 30th, 2018 by Marc Comments

It look like all the talk of more Star Trek movies has been warranted after all.

At Cinema Con Paramount Studio chairman/CEO Jim Gianopulos announced that there was two more movies in the Star Trek universe being developed.

We know that Quentin Tarantino is supposedly working a Trek movies (here) though we don’t know if this is one of the ones being talked about here, and we also know that Spock himself, actor Zachary Quinto, recently said that as far as he knew there was multiple Trek projects happening at Paramount (here) and looks like he was right.

We’re hearing that SJ Clarkson, director of such TV shows as Dexter and Bates Motel is set to be the first female director in Star Trek’s long history in a plot that will see Chris Hemsworth return to his role as James Kirk’s father in a time travel plot line.

However, we don’t even know if they both will be set in the universe of JJ Abrams’ movies or even if maybe it will be the Discovery universe. Whatever happens, if you loves you some Trek then it’s good times all round.

So there you go Trek fans, there’s plenty of reason to live long and prosper coming up in the near future…

Are you excited?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
