You know the way it looks like Captain America: Civil War could be rather, em, crowded?

Well, you haven’t seen anything yet, it seems.

Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo have revealed that they are prepping the two-part movie at the minute and “We have a board with 67 characters on it.”

67!?

Well, we can assume from this the movie will see the Avengers meet up with the Guardians of the Galaxy and then there’ll be new characters like Black Panther, Doctor Strange and Captain Marvel, so we can see how the roaster could grow to such massive numbers.

And, if the comics are to be believed, it’ll take every hero in the MCU to stop Thanos, so it could well be all-out mayhem… and we suspect not everyone will make it through either.

“Maybe some Avengers might not be around anymore,” Joe Russo said, going so far as to say that secondary characters will come to the fore: “I want to see some storytelling from some of the secondary characters,” Russo said at Wizard World, New Orleans.

“We’re focusing on that right now with Infinity War while we’re breaking into those movies, is which characters can we pull to the forefront who potentially haven’t had their own ‘A’ story arc to this point.

“I think you’ll see that the supporting Avengers are going to become primary Avengers,” he added.

“Everything is finite, right? Nothing can last forever … It’s cyclical. Some new Avengers in are going to become prominent and then maybe some Avengers might not be around anymore.”

Sounds like it’ll be all change after this…

Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 is scheduled for a May 2018 release
