Ben Affleck confirms Batman standalone title (sort of) the return of JK Simmons and… did he leak a little Justice League info?

While we’re still probably a couple of years out from seeing it, we’re so excited for Ben Affleck’s solo Batman movie that it’s almost embarrassing.

While out promoting his new movie, The Accountant, Affleck is being asked about the next Dark knight outing and he’s dropped two little bits of info that, while we pretty much already guessed (knew), it’s good to have confirmation on.

Firstly, the title: “The movie I think is going to be called ‘The Batman’. At least that’s what we’re going with right now. I might change it… That’s about all I got right now. We’re working on the script, the script is going well, I’m really excited about it,” Affleck said.

He said that it may also be up for changing later and we, personally, wouldn’t rule out a subtitle like The Batman: Arkham Asylum, or something along those lines.

He also confirmed that Justice League’s JK Simmons, who’s playing Commissioner Gordon, will be in the standalone movie. In fairness, we would have thought it odd if he WASN’T in the movie.

Also perhaps worth noting is that, while talking about the Batman Tactical Suit we saw a while ago from Justice League (here), he refers to Justice League as “Justice League One”. Now he does trip over his words a little at this point in the interview (top video, below) but, given that until recently we were led to believe Justice League would be a two-part outing (here), it’s certainly a strange coincidence, don’t you think?

Anyway, that’s what we got… excited? Let us know…
