Oooooooooh… looks like there’s a big announcement coming this June 8th or Ghostbusters Day as we call it.
Sony Pictures has released the poster above, which advertises a screening of Ghostbusters: Afterlife at Calley Park on the Sony Pictures Studios lot with the movie’s director and co-writer Jason Reitman and co-writer Gil Kenan and some sort of ‘Special Announcement’ too.

Now while the announcement could be many things, we’re hoping it’s confirmation of the next movie in the series, after all, we’ve had confirmation twice in the last couple of weeks that more movies are in development (here and here) and you all might recall that no sooner had a new Ghostbusters movie been announced in 2019 than we had this glorious teaser, so could we have a teaser this time around?
Man, it’s such an exciting time to be a Nerd right now, isn’t it?
Last November it was announced that Reitman and Kenan had signed an overall producing deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment and we strongly suspect now, as we did then, that this will include Ghostbusters projects.
We’ll be watching closely this Ghostbusters Day… will you? Let us know.
