Blue Beetle movie on Warner/DC’s radar with a script being worked on

December 3rd, 2018 by Marc Comments

Not for the first time, we’re hearing rumours of Blue Beetle finding his way onto the big screen thanks to the DC Cinematic Universe.

Firstly, we heard a long time ago that we may be getting Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk as Ted Kord’s incarnation of Blue Beetle along with time-travelling side kick Booster Gold and it may be directed by the Arrowverse’s Gerg Berlanti (here).

After that we heard that Berlanti may, instead, be looking at taking Beetle on to the small screen and inserting him into the world of Arrow (here) – Kord Industries has been referenced several time in the Arrowverse) – and now we have a new rumour.

Word is that the movie version of the character has been discussed and is even getting a script but it will be the latest version of the character in the comics, the third incarnation, Jaime Reyes.

The new script is being penned by the Scar Face reboot scribe Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer.

In the comics Reyes’ Beetle who has an alien scarab on his back that covers him in armour and weapons, creating a pretty unique character.

How far along this is we have no way of saying, but we would love to see it happen… and it could open a new doorway for the DC universe.

What say you all? Let us know…

Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
