Bollywood to Make Film Based on Stan Lee’s Chakra: The Invincible

October 14th, 2014 by Todd Black Comments

Let’s just call this another win in the Stan Lee column shall we?

From Spider-Man to the Avengers, the influence of Stan Lee is everywhere. But now, Bollywood is taking a stab at a Stan Lee hero, as they make a film adaptation of his first Indian superhero, Chakra: The Invincible. According to the Hollywood Reporter.

“We’ve set up some great meetings already with some of the most amazingly  talented actors and directors in Indian cinema and I have no doubt that these  individuals will help make the Chakra film a massive hit in India and around the  globe,” said Lee of the movie adapation

The story of the comic focuses on one Raju Rai, who uses both science and magical chakras to gain superpowers. Ironically, a cartoon version of the hero was aired on Indian television in 2013. The film is said to be a little different than the comics, and is set for a 2015-2016 release.
