It looks like all is not going swimmingly on the latest James Bond movie…
The Daily Mail (yeah, we know) are reporting that extensive rewrites on the script have been necessary as “Writers Neil Purvis and Robert Wade answered a fire-alarm call from James Bond actor Daniel Craig and director Sam Mendes to ‘rescue’ the screenplay for Bond 24 (the film’s working title), written by John Logan, and add some ‘thrills’.”
They say that the rewrites mean the movie is now significantly different from Logan’s and everyone is very happy with it.
“Mendes himself had brought in Logan, an award- winning playwright and screenwriter, to work on the last Bond film, Skyfall, rewriting drafts that Purvis and Wade had penned,” they report, “but sources [say] that Mendes almost went down on his knees to persuade Purvis and Wade to return to the Bond fold. The director had a lot of making up to do.”
