Charlie Hunnam as The Flash, Constantine or both?

Charlie Hunnam as the Flash or Constantine or both? CHUD.com has a hunch that “Sons of Anarchy” and “Pacific Rim” actor Charlie Hunnam may be in the hunt for two very different roles from one comic book company. The two roles in question? According to the rumor the Flash in Justice League and John Constantine in Justice League Dark. An inside source has told CHUD.com that director Guillermo Del Toro and Warner Bros. both are very interested in working with the actor on any number of projects.

The Justice League Dark portion of the rumor is understandable, it stems from the actor’s relationship with director Guillermo Del Toro. Not only are the two linked up in this summer’s blockbuster Pacific Rim, but next year’s Crimson Peak as well. Also in his favor is the fact that Hunnam is both British and blond unlike Keanu Reeves’ portrayal of the character in 2005’s Constantine. It doesn’t take much to see how the rumor started, it seems like the perfect situation for all parties.

The Flash part seems due to the fact the actor’s likeness is allegedly being used in concept art for Justice League, as the Flash. Of course it could be just that the concept artist is a big fan Hunnam or Sons of Anarchy. But maybe the WB is impressed with Hunnam in Pacific Rim and wants to scoop him up before he becomes an even bigger star.

Of course none of this will matter if Justice League never makes it to theaters. The film seems to be put on hold until the Man of Steel box office is in. The last bit of news we heard about it was the script was trashed.

Justice League Dark or Dark Universe the title they want to go by (I prefer JL Dark), seems to have much going for it. It already has passionate director attached in Del Toro, and a screenplay being drafted by a mystery writer. If Pacific Rim is as big a hit as it seems to be, I wouldn’t be surprised if John Constantine and Friends gets the full steam ahead.

There is a chance that the actor might score both roles. It’s not yet clear whether or not DC is going the shared universe route that Marvel seems to have perfected. If the Constantine film becomes like Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy and is made to stand on it’s own, Hunnam may be tapped for both roles.

What do you think? What role can you see him taking?
