There’s been a lot of speculation recently that Chris Evans may no longer want to play Steve Rogers/Captain America after his contract is up (here), with Evans himself talking about only starring in movies he’s directing after his time is up at Marvel.
But the actor himself, talking to MTV, is keen to talk about Captain America 3 AND to perhaps put to bed those ‘he’s leaving’ rumours: “It’s [Captain America 3] this giant web of plot, where everything is connected to everything else… that’s the beautiful thing and especially for the fanboys who understand these plotlines. With Cap 3, we’re going to continue this excitement.”
He also talked about the possibility of him leading another team of heroes apart from the Avengers: “What do I think about this, what can I say about this? You wanna give something!
“Marvel doesn’t disappoint. Whatever you’re hoping for, you’re probably going to get.”
Finally, on the rumours that he’s leaving, he said: “Who’s handing off the shield? Don’t take my job from me prematurely dude!
“I’m sure it’ll happen at some point, all good things have to come to an end. But I’m really happy playing the character.”
