Damon Lindelof working on secret Star Wars movie with Ms Marvel director already attached

October 24th, 2022 by Marc Comments

Last night I reported on the fact that Rian Johnson, he of The Last Jedi fame, wants to return to Star Wars at some stage to make his proposed trilogy (no thanks, we’re good) and now we get word that another ‘secret’ Star Wars project is already underway.

We already know that while Patty Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron is likely never happening (here), we have still got Marvel Boss Kevin Feige’s Star Wars movie is still in the pipeline along with Taika Waititi’s take on the galaxy far, far away (although after Thor: Love and Thunder, I think I’d rather he stay away from it) but now it seems that Damon Lindelof has been developing a Star Wars movie too and he already has a director attached!

Lindelof is best know for Star Trek: Into Darkness, Watchmen and Lost and he is, according to the new report, still writing the movie but they have signed Ms Marvel’s Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy to direct.

Lindeloff is co-writing the movie, with who, we don’t know yet, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is signed on ‘so that person’s own vision for where they see this story headed gets included in the script’.

The movie is totally secret at the minute with no word on when it will be set, what it will be about or when we might see it but if Lindelof is still writing then don’t be expecting it anytime soon.

Let’s hope we get the Lindeloff that wrote Lost and not the Into Darkness or Watchmen guy – I make no apologies for hating the Watchmen series.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
