Deadpool 2 already on its way?

April 6th, 2016 by Phil Robinson Comments

After the immense success of Deadpool, there has never been any question over Ryan Reynolds returning for a sequel. However, it looks as though the star has already closed his deal to appear in an upcoming installment and Fox may be looking to make Deadpool 2 a priority for the immediate future.

Deadpool 2 was first announced back in February but with the first film breaking all kinds of box office records, Reynolds was reportedly eager to renegotiate his contract. Now, Heroic Hollywood (via Squareeyed) are reporting that the deal has been closed.

No specific story details are known about Deadpool 2 at this time but Rhett Reese and Paul Wernwick are both confirmed to return to write the screenplay. Director Tim Miller is also expected to return.

Shooting is expected to take place later this year so it’s possible we could see the Merc With a Mouth back on our screens as early as 2017 – now wouldn’t that just be awesome!?

Hidden deep in the woods, past the abandoned insane asylum and long-forgotten summer camp, off the old dirt road, across the creaky timber bridge, lies a log cabin. Under the full moon some have said they've heard blood-curdling howls from deep in the basement, though none have been brave enough to explore further... If they had, the shocking reveal would be that the screams come from old horror VHS tapes, accompanied by the maniacal laugh of Phil Robinson, brought on by comics and wrestling promos. The self-confessed "horror guy", he has also been known to talk about Spider-Man and heavy metal at great, unnecessary lengths. Yes, he knows he needs a haircut.
