So you may all recall the internet – and us – getting a little excited last week when Ben Affleck shared footage of DC bad guy/anti-hero Deathstroke? No, well you can see it all (here) and we really recommend you check out the footage as it blew us away…
Well, the rumour at the time was that the character would be making an appearance in the Justice League movie but more likely would be the villain in the solo Batman movie to be written by, star and directed by Affleck.
You may also remember that everyone seemed convinced it was True Blood’s Joe Mangienello playing the DC badass, real name Slade Wilson.
And guess what? The rumour mill nailed it on at least two counts.
DC Movie head Geoff Johns confirmed the casting to the Wall Street Journal earlier today.
And we love this on several levels, firstly we think Mangienello will nail the role of Slade Wilson and secondly, we think he’ll be a great foil to Batman in his first outing on his own.
