The Terminator: Genisys trailer has some of us at FTN HQ giddy, others fuming and most scratching their heads. However, all of us agree on one thing: old Arnie Vs new Arnie – if done right – could be awesome sauce.

HERE BE POTENTIAL SPOILERS

Word on the grapevine is that Skydance aren’t totally happy with the scrap between the two (one?) and are using CGI models to make it more ‘brutal’.

Coming soon are reporting that an anonymous source on the movie is giving them info on the new fight: “The battle will be better then the T-800 and T-1000 from T2. The ground will break on the wrestling fight,” they say.

“The young digitally enhanced T-800 is doing a forward lunge double fist punch and/or crushing the aged T-800’s face, with both its knuckles pile-driving into the real Arnold Schwarzenegger’s metal skull, like something out of a wrestling match. The aged T-800 has its left arm locked under the T-800’s right shoulder as if it is going to make a deadly move on the younger T-800.”

They are saying that the older Terminator will eventually win and will come out damaged but over time he’ll heal and eventually become the older version we’ve seen in the trailer (below).

After watching Terminator Salvation a few weeks ago, I still have the fresh image of CGI Arnie in my head but the source is saying that the effects guys are using the actual molds taken by Stan Winston for the original 1984 Terminator to recreate the actor in his prime.

Directed by Alan Taylor
Cast: Arnold Schwartzenegger, Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Matt Smith, Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons

IN UK CINEMAS JULY 2015

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
