The difference between superhero logic and our world logic is sometimes very obvious. But, because some things need to look a certain way, or act a certain way in superheroland, logic can sometimes go out the window.

For example, the upcoming Ant-Man movie. If you were wondering if you’d see a tiny Paul Rudd/Scott Lang running around without the Ant-Man suit, don’t count on it. Here’s why, as told by the costume designers themselves.

“When you shrink, the molecules in the air are too big for your lungs,” Sheldon explains. “He has to be fully contained or he’d die.”

That’s actually quite logical, but…here’s comes the flash over substance part of the show:

“We had a long discussion about the two cables going into his helmet,” Coveney reveals. “They’re a massive weakness – Yellowjacket could just rip them off and he’s dead. But, in the end, it just looks cooler with them on.” On this subject, Sheldon adds: “The fact that he’s shrinking is enough to get away with anything else, really!”

Yep, that sounds perfect for a superhero movie.
