When it was announced that DC Comics and Warner Bros. would try and make a shared cinematic universe for their characters, one of the immediate questions was whether the shows in the TV worlds would be a part of it. Arrow was already established, and The Flash was just starting but already making waves. Then, they revealed these two universes would indeed be separate, and that new actors would fill the roles of certain characters. One such new actor was Ezra Miller, who will play the movie version of Barry Allen, aka the Flash. In an interview with MTV News (available below), Miller spoke about not only being in the movie, but how excited he is to be in this universe and how he totally loves The Flash TV series and wants to race Grant Gustin.

“I’m not avoiding it at all. I think it’s awesome,” Miller told MTV News when asked about the The Flash television series. “And come on, it’s The Flash, it’s parallel universes. Grant Gustin is The Flash and I’m The Flash. Don’t you see? It’s the event horizon. We’ve crossed it, baby! Grant and I are chilling. We’re going to have a race, it will be dope.”

He also notes that he is using this movie as an excuse to geek out for the “right reasons.” As you’ll see in the interview below, Ezra truly is excited to be The Flash. That might give fans some hope that both he and Grant Gustin can exist at the same time.

The Flash movie, starring Ezra Miller, is scheduled for release some time in 2018.
