There’s still plenty of time to pass until the July 15, 2016 release date of Paul Feig’s all-female Ghostbusters reboot, but the fires of fan anticipation have been stoked after the first official photo from the film was released online.

Like most official promotional photos, it may seem fairly straightforward to breakdown, but there is actually a great amount of detail and more than meets the eye.

The image is dominated by a hypnotic and captivating green glow that has characterised the original films. Feig has summoned the magic and nostalgia of the original films with this image, making us curious for the trailer (which will be along any day now)… and the background reminds us a lot of the temple on the rooftop in the climax of the original movie.

There is a lot of  details, like Kate McKinnon’s cocked head, or Melissa McCarthy’s power stance. It really portrays a sense of a movie with strong women at the fore who are ready to bust some Ghost ass!

Let us know what you think, folks….
