From Rey to Raider… could Daisy Ridley be the new Lara Croft?

March 10th, 2016 by Marc Comments

Star Wars breakout actress Daisy Ridley is being eyed as the new Lara Croft in a potential Tomb Raider reboot, according to Deadline.

She is reportedly one of many actresses being considered for the role that was made famous by Angelina Jolie.

Deadline reported (via Squareeyed): “While conversations have taken place, this is still very early and there have been no official negotiations or offer yet with the producers keeping their options wide open at this stage. This is one of THE plum gigs out there for a young actress. The role was famously played before by Angelina Jolie at her most kick-ass and pneumatic. Based on the long-running video game franchise, Tomb Raider follows the English archaeologist Lara Croft through a series of adventures heavily inspired by Indiana Jones (and, to a lesser extent, Alan Quartermaine).”

We’re also hearing that the new movie will be tied to the rebooted games and will be a darker, more adult adventure than the previous two movies.

Would you like to see this happen? We think it would be an awesome piece of casting! Daisy Ridley is currently shooting Star Wars: Episode VIII.
