Garfield, Dunst, Stone and Maguire set for MCU’s Spider-man 3 now too, it seems…

December 8th, 2020 by Marc Comments

Just a few minutes ago I reported that Alfred Molina will be returning for Spider-man 3 in the MCU, joining Jamie Foxx’s Electro and stitching together all three Spider-man movie franchises in one big hit…

And now we have even more news that Molina was just the tip of the iceberg as Collider reports that (and we have reported this as being likely before) Andrew Garfield is returning as Peter Parker/Spider-man along with Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy and Kirsten Dunst’s MJ – both being the main love interests in the previous two Spider-man universes (If Stone isn’t playing Spider-Gwen, I’ll be ripping up seats… I want that spinoff too!).

Toby Maguire is also being sought to sign on but it seems he’s holding out for a bigger payday and he and Marvel/Disney are thrashing it out… Disney, just pay the man what he wants, this movie will be bigger than Endgame!

As I said in the earlier article, the Disney Investor Presentation is later this week, so I would expect a couple of big announcements then.

This is very, very exciting news, indeed…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
