Great Scott!! Christopher Lloyd has an idea for Back to the Future IV

August 17th, 2019 by Geralt of Australia Comments

New news coming out of Hollywood as we learn that Christopher Lloyd wants to reprise his role as everyone’s second favorite doctor, Doc Emmett Brown in a fourth instalment of the 80s cult hit Back to the Future.

Lloyd said he would be more than happy to return for part four, however if this is something that’s going to happen then the movie has to have a topical message, which would make sense since Back to the Future has been a catalyst for new tech over the last few years with the creation of what they’re calling a hoverboard based on what Marty uses in the movie.

“I think somehow it needs to convey a message about something that’s important to everyone, universally, like climate change. Some way of incorporating whatever fever is going on at the moment into the film and keeping the feeling of both one, two and three” Lloyd had to say at Niagara Falls Comic Con.

I guess the main issue with this would be Michael J. Fox and is he able to preform the role? Now for those living under a rock, a while ago the fantastic Mr Fox was unfortunately diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

However, even with that, Lloyd doesn’t seem like that will matter all too much: “His Parkinson’s, he has it, but it’s like so what? He just moves ahead it’s pretty cool. A couple of months ago there was like a bunch of us, Back to the Future [Cast], Tom Wilson and Lea Thompson… we had a panel with all of us, and Michael just goes forth and talks, breaks people up, so it’s very cool”

With Lloyd hitting his 80 now, I’m hoping they can get this done sooner rather than later – if it’s going to happen – provided they can get a decent script together that stays true to the original story lines, maybe Lloyd goes Back to the Future to save the world from climate change but instead of Doc and Marty why not use Doc with Marty and Jennifer’s kids?
