We’re still excited for the Pacific Rim sequel and TV series… so the idea of it being a movie trilogy is just great.
FTN favourite Guillermo del Toro has been telling Collider that his plan is to have the second movie end in such a way that it leaves the door wide open for the third move: “Some of your favourite characters come back; some others don’t because we have decided that we’re going to shoot ambitiously and say ‘Let’s hope we have three movies,'” he says.
“So some characters come in at the end of the second, hoping that it will ramp up on the third one.”
He also confirmed that he hopes to begin filming on part two late next year. And we can’t wait…
