Has the Snake Eyes movie found its titular hero and his enemy, Stormshadow?

The GI Joe spin-off, Snake Eyes, could possibly be getting off the ground with talks happening with actors to take the two lead roles.

Henry Golding from Crazy Rich Asians is currently in talks for the titular role of Snake Eyes which will be completely different from what he’s done before, he shall be joined by Andrew Koji (Warrior) who is looking hopeful as Storm Shadow, Snake Eyes’ mortal enemy.

So for those of you not up to date on the characters of GI Joe, here’s a bit of a profile on Snake Eyes: As for his real name we know… nothing. As for his background we know… nothing. Not much of a profile, I know, but I think that’s part of the charm of the character; what we do know is that he was caught in a helicopter explosion in which he was left with heavy scaring and no voice, pretty brutal, right” Because of this, he wears a mask all the time. He’s proficient in martial arts and favors knives and swords, so kinda like your friendly neighborhood Deadpool just without the guns (although he does from time-to-time sport a pair of UZIs), regeneration and, most of all, bad language.

When we get to Storm Shadow again there just isn’t that much that’s known about him, must be a thing with GI Joe. But what we do know is that Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow are brothers, so that would definitely explain why we know nothing about either of them.

Now we have already seen a live-action Snake Eyes in GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra but he was played by Ray Park who hasn’t been picked back up to reprise his role in the spin-off.

Set for a release of March 2020, written by Evan Spiliotopoulous (Bright 2) with Robert Schwentke (R.I.P.D.) directing, it will be interesting to see just how much you can do with someone who doesn’t talk.
