Hayley Atwell talks about the chances of seeing her back as Agent Carter in the MCU

April 10th, 2018 by Ciaran McElherron Comments

When the MCU was in its infancy Peggy Carter was a pivotal character so beloved by fans that she gained her own spin off TV show that was cancelled way too early, given how long some series run these days.

Carter’s death and final words to Captain American were intricate to the plot of Captain America: Civil war and convinced ol’ Wing Head to oppose the Sokovia Accords and, as we know from waaaaaay too many years, of reading comic books just cause you die doesn’t mean you’re dead forever.

During a recent interview, the possibility of a return was put to Cater herself, actress Hayley Atwell and the actress certainly seems up for return to the role should there be a need: “Because it’s a genre-specific superhero piece, I’m sure anything could happen,” Atwell told Parade.

“It’s such a huge world. I do think there’s something in the completion of the fact that they’re doing their back-to-back Avengers at the moment, which will complete an era, so I can’t see how that would be. But that’s what’s remarkable about Marvel is they keep going. Each film tends to further what they’re doing, so I wouldn’t rule it out.”

We certainly think that, with the return of Agents Coulson and Nick Fury in the upcoming Captain Marvel movie, there’s definitely room for a return for Agent Carter too. we know we never get tired of seeing Atwell being awesome and kicking ass.

Do you see a way for Peggy Carter to come back to the MCU?  Are you excited for Infinity War? Sound off in the comments section…
