Idris Elba looks likely to be the villain in Fast & Furious spin-off Hobbs and Shaw

July 6th, 2018 by Marc Comments

Yes! Not only are we getting the Fast & Furious spinoff starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Stathem – Hobbs and Shaw – but now it looks like they are going to get the best imaginable actor to play the villain… Idris Elba!

Yes! It seems Elba is in final negotiations to star in the movie opposite the two stars of the Fast & Furious movies. And, with all the trouble we’re hearing about in the FF stable (here) it seems that maybe the franchise is looking to Hobbs and Shaw to keep going… so it would make sense to go for an actor of Elba’s pedigree.

The movie will be directed by Deadpool 2 director David Leitch and Fast & Furious writer Chris Morgan is penning the adventure.

So what say you all? Is Elba as the villain to go up agains Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw a good idea? We definitely think so…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife.
