OK, firstly, there’s an Insidious: Chapter 3 movie coming… and there’s a teaser ahead of the full trailer (arriving tomorrow) below and a poster for it above. Now, there’s more Insidious news too.

Blumhouse Productions, the folks behind the Sinister and Insidious horror flicks, seem to want some of that Shared Universe pie that Marvel, Ghostbusters, Disney, Universal and DC are all hungry for.

Comingsoon have been chatting to Blumhouse founder Jason Blum who said that they are currently working on knitting their big movies together into one, conjoined reality; asked if it was a ‘shared universe’, he replied: “Be like Marvel, you mean? Yeah! I want to do that. We’ve been putting Easter Eggs in movies in different things. There’s some in Insidious 3. There’s some in Sinister 2. So yeah, we’ve been doing that. I would like to do more of that.”

So, with Insidious Chapter 3 coming out on June 5th and Sinister 2 arriving August 21st it looks like the universe is being built already: “We’re not close to an Avengers, but I do like the idea of having the worlds collide in the different franchises we work on. That’s a really cool idea… I want to continue to do that.”

No word on any other movies that might fit in, but when has that ever held a Hollywood studio back?

The full Insidious: Chapter 3 trailer will be revealed tomorrow, so keep an eye on us, ok?
