As with all Marvel casting news, the rumours keep pouring in over the casting of the upcoming movie adaptation of one of Marvel’s weirdest characters yet; Doctor Strange and you can add another name to that seemingly endless list – Boardwalk Empire’s Jack Huston.
Apparently most of the previously mentioned actors who have been linked to the project are still in the running with the likes of Johnny Depp, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jared Leto, Tom Hardy and Joaquin Phoenix. However, This Is Infamous has reported that Boardwalk Empire and American Hustle star Huston is the latest candidate who is “definitely in the running”.
This is not the first time that Hudson has been in the running for a role in the Marvel Universe. The 31-year-old has been up for the part of Doctor Doom in the Fantastic Four reboot and was a finalist for taking the role of Star-Lord in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy – which ultimately went to Chris Pratt. Marvel have been at the top of their game when it has come to casting duties and since Huston is not a Box Office draw, they could essentially sign him up for a multiple film deal, which he could presumably commit to.
This Is Infamous broke the story back in January that they were certain Jon Hamm would play the role. Hamm himself flat out denied ever having any talks with Marvel about any role the other day (here).
So, due to the numerous casting lists Hudson has been mentioned in, we will have to wait and see if there is any more word on this rumour.
