James Cameron seemingly confirms more Alita: Battle Angel movies aleady being worked on

September 10th, 2023 by Marc Comments

We’re all big, big fans of Alita: Battle Angel here at FTN HQ and we’ve been reporting over the last few months that we may be seeing more and more movement on the possibility of a sequel – or sequels – finally happening,

Heck, at one point there was talk of it being a Disney+ series but, in the end, especially after the success of Alita producer James Cameron’s Avatar sequel, it looked like the wheels were finally greased and things are beginning to happen.

Though, despite positive commentary from director Robert Rodriquez, and producer Jon Landau [“We’re talking to Robert and talking to Rosa and all is good.”], nothing seemed concrete.

Cameron and Rodriquez take an oath to make Alita: Battle Angel sequel

However…

Cameron, in a recent interview about his career and movies in general, seemingly confirmed that work on the highly anticipated sequel IS already underway: “On Avatar, I’m working in Wellington and Los Angeles,” Cameron says, adding: “and on the new Alita: Battle Angel films, I’ll be working in Austin.”

Man, Alita was a surprise movie for me that I adored, with the talent behind it, I knew it would be worth a watch but I hadn’t anticipated my love for it, so having a sequel with the same talent behind it – Rosa Salazar was adorable and totally badass as Alita – would be great.

Wait… did he say ‘films’?! Are we getting more than one new Alita movie? Now, that would be sweet!

Thoughts? I know you have them! Voice-off in the usual ways on FTN’s FacebookTwitter and Instagram
