It looks like Marvel aren’t content with just one more Guardians of the Galaxy movie… and they want James Gunn back directing and writing.
In another of his Facebook Q&As the director was asked if he was going to come back for Vol 3 and he confirmed that he’s been asked but it’s not on his mind… yet: “Right now I really am just concerned with doing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.
“I’m not sure what I’m going to do after this… Marvel has talked to me about continuing on. I’m not sure if that’s what I want to do or if that’s not what I want to do. I really just want to make Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 the greatest possible movie that I can, and something that’s as honest and sincere and true as it can possibly be”.
It’s interesting to hear that Gunn has been approached and it certainly shows the studio’s confident in him. After the first movie we’d be happy for Gunn to continue providing the quality could be maintained. What about you?
In related news, Chris Pratt has shared a set tour to promote the latest Omaze capaign. The campaign gives you a chance to win a trip to the set of the now filming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 as well as help funds will go towards the construction of a brand-new Teen Center at Lake Stevens Boys & Girls Club. This center will provide a safe place for teens to build relationships with mentors, get help with homework, develop professional skills and be with friends in a welcoming environment.
Here’s what Lake Stevens Boys and Girls Club Director Mike Wetmore had to say in a statement: “We’re so thankful for the support of Chris and the Omaze team as we work towards our goal of building a Teen Center. We currently offer a variety of resources and programs for kids, and with Chris’ involvement in the Omaze campaign, we’re looking forward to being able to expand our offerings to provide a safe space for teens as well.”
