James Wan + John Wick writer + sci-fi = pure awesome!

So Aquaman and The Conjuring director James Wan (producing and hopefully directing) is joining John Wick writer Derek Kolstad for an adaptation of Frank M Robinson’s time travel tale Hunting Season.

The story is from 1951’s Astounding Science Fiction magazine in 1951:

In this militaristic society of tomorrow, subversives are sent back to past ages where aristocrats hunt them for sport. Usually, the hunted are members of the lower classes. But when an aristocrat is condemned to be hunted in mid-twentieth century America, the entire fabric of society comes unraveled.

Starlight and Star Plus are financing the movie in which “a law officer from the future who is declared an enemy of the state and sentenced to be executed by being sent to the past and stalked by a posse. The man has three days to acclimate to his new era and find a way to survive.”

This sounds like it could be an absolute riot, to be honest.

What say you all? Let me know what you think…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
