UPDATED: Jared Leto cast as Skeletor in Travis Knight’s He-Man movie

It looks like Jared Leto is set to trouble He-Man and the Masters of the Universe on the big screen!

Yes, the Oscar-winning Suicide Squad and soon TRON: Ares star has signed on to Bumblebee’s Travis Knight’s movie as on of the 80s’ biggest (and best?) bad guy, Skeletor!

The movie has had a troubled past so far in getting made but now that Knight, who also made the superb Kubo and the Two Strings, has signed on, the cast is filling up well and I see a cool collection of action figures in my collecting future.

Skeletor’s ranks will be filled out with (so far) Community’s Alison Brie as Evil Lynne, House of the Dragon’s Sam C Wilson as Trap Jaw, The Beekeeper’s Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops and Game of Thrones’ Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man.

On the side of the good guys, He-Man/Prince Adam will be played by Nicholas Galitzine while Man-at-Arms will be played by Idris Elba, leaving Teela played by Camilla Mendes

Look, I’m not going to lie, that’s a pretty solid cast and with Knight at the helm, I actually have high hopes that this could be a better outing of He-Man and co than 1987’s much-loved-but-we-all-know-it’s-crap Masters of the Universe.

What do you think? Could a live-action He-Man and the Masters of the Universe movie be good? Personally, I can’t wait to see Elba as Man at Arms!

Anyway, let me know your thoughts, guys.

According to scooper Daniel RPK, the movie will be a contemporary take and will focus on: “Adam, who is in the real world, working a boring office job, and the whole He-Man and Masters of the Universe story are tales he heard as a little kid.”

Em… ok. But I’d much rather have a straight-faced He-Man, Castle Greyskull, Skeletor movie, please.
