After we reported last week that the Zombieland sequel is still possibly alive and kicking (here) we were impressed with the fan base out there for the original movie… it really seems people would love a sequel.

So long as it was done right, of course.

Well, it seems that it’s not just the fans, but Tallahasse himself, actor Jesse Eisenberg, is also keen to see it happen.

Doing the circuit and talking about the upcoming Batman V Superman, the actor reckons getting himself, Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, and Abigail Breslin back together for the sequel would be a good idea: “I know they’ve been trying to do it for a while, and I know they’re trying to figure out exactly what will occur in it,” he says.

“But it’s a kind of movie that, as soon as it came out, seemed appropriate to generate a sequel. It takes place in this odd, created world and features an ensemble of interesting characters that it’d be curious to see more of. I would hope that it happens, and I’m sure everybody would be happy to do it if it happens and it’s good. It’s also a strangely beloved movie, so it’s a thing you have to get right. Some sequels you don’t have to get exactly right, but this is the kind of movie you have to get right because people like it for personal reasons, even though it’s a zombie comedy.”

what we are hearing a ot of is that a sequel is wanted but so long as it’s not just thrown together for money (as if that would ever happen) but pays proper respect to what has gone before… and we can certainly get behind that.
