It’s kinda agreed that one of the highlights of Terminator Genisys was JK Simmons’s turn as scattered LAPD detective O’Brien.

While there’s never any excuse needed for more Simmons, it’s a great thing to hear that the character has been confirmed for two more movies. Based on his brief appearance, it seems that O’Brien could become a dependable ally for the little band of heroes in the future.

Simmons was speaking about the role and has confirmed his story is still ongoing: “There are a lot of ways we could go with O’Brien, and we’ve actually have had those discussions already, so I do know where it goes — but that’s part of the fun of the character, he’s the only guy in 2017, in the regular world, that has a clue what’s going on. Nobody believes him, but he does sorta know what’s up, or is beginning to figure out what the whole story is here. So I think if we make the sequels as they continue, I think O’Brien’s credibility level will develop.”

So, allies in the ongoing fight against Skynet? Cool. Question is, can they get Dr Silberman on board…?
