John Cena set for Peacemaker role in James Gunn’s Suicide Squad sequel?

April 19th, 2019 by Marc Comments

It looks like James Gunn’s Suicide Squad sequel, The Suicide Squad, is looking to add a big name to its line-up.

Word is that John Cena is in talks to join the cast along with newcomer IdrisElba and returning MAargot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis and Jol Kinnaman.

I have a guilty like for Cena, so I’m open for him joining the Squad and it looks like Cena will play Peacemaker in the movie, a role rumoured to be going to Dave Bautista according to Hollywood Reporters’ Justin Knoll

Peacemaker was the influence for The Comedian in Watchmen and is a vigilante who himself becomes the thing he hates when he goes out for justice. Could be an interesting character to set up in this world… there’s always room for more anti-heroes.

James Gunn will write and direct the movie, which is expected to go into production this fall and arrive on August 6th, 2021.
