It looks like Star Wars and Indiana Jones fans have reason to celebrate as John Williams is confirmed to be scoring Star Wars episode VIII and Indiana Jones 5!
At a red carpet event by the American Film Institute in Williams’ honour, the composer confirmed that he is on board for the two sequels, keeping the time honoured tradition of scoring both iconic franchises alive and well.
“If I can do it, I certainly will,” Williams told Variety about scoring Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII.
“I told Kathy Kennedy I’m happy to do it, but the real reason is, I didn’t want anybody else writing music for Daisy Ridley.”
As for Indy? Well, Steven Spielberg told Access Hollywood that Williams was back for the adventurer’s fifth outing.
Indiana Jones 5 is scheduled to arrive on July 19th, 2019 with Harrison Ford back in the lead role and Spielberg once again directing.
Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII hits on December 15th, 2017.
