Josh Brolin has already appeared as the universe’s biggest bad-ass in Guardians of the Galaxy but he’s getting ready to really call down the thunder in Avengers 3 & 4: Infinity War.

The actor has been talking about why exactly he decided to take on the Avengers… promoting his new movie, Paul Thomas Anderson’s Inherent Vice, he talked with Coming Soon about the back-to-back Avengers movies: “I love the idea of Thanos. Ultimately, it’s Thanos against everyone. Why wouldn’t you do that?”

And it looks like it was Louis D’Esposito, the co-president of Marvel Studios, who convinced him he was the man for the job: “He called me up and started talking about this thing. It was nice because I could intimately talk to him about it. What I liked. What I didn’t like about the whole idea of it… It was really exciting because of the possibilities that it could be come. Not as an idea or as a blockbuster, but just as something different. It’s a character mentality”.

The big question of course is when will we see Thanos again? After all, if he’s to become the biggest bad in the Marvel universe then we need to see him for a few minutes at least, no?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
