A while ago it was reported that Disney head Bob Iger said that the new Han Solo movie would explain how he got his name (here).
At the time there was a bit of a backlash as people were upset because he was always called Han Solo and why would he be called anything else, although we argued that that wasn’t what Iger meant, but rather how Han got his name as the Galaxy’s greatest smuggler.
And it seems we were right.
Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, speaking to MTV (full video below) said of the confusion: “I’m not sure that that’s entirely what Bob [Iger, Disney CEO] meant. There’s more to Han Solo’s name, but it’s not that it’s not his name. It’s obviously his name. It will always be his name.”
Well, that’s that all cleared up, then. Now we just have to wait for the movie to hit on May 28th next year.
As for the next standalone movie? Well, she also says they’re getting close and she’d hope to see the announcement around the summer time…
