Sooooo… remember the whole ‘eight years later’ thing at the start of Spider-man: Homecoming that confused a lot of fans because there wasn’t an eight year gap between it and Avengers: Age of Ultron?
Welllllll… it seems that Marvel are aware of the fans’ confusion and are working on a way to fix it.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has promised that they are working on a Marvel Timeline to go with the movies.
How long have the Avengers been together? How long between Winter Soldier and Civil War? How long has Hulk/Banner been gone before appearing in Thor: Ragnarok? Well all these thing swill be answered.
They just aren’t sure how.
“All of that debate has encouraged us,” says Feige about the fans’ debating exactly when things are taking place in the MCU, “We are going to be publishing an official, and I’m not sure when, or in what format, an official timeline. It’ll probably be apart of ah, I don’t know, apart of an in print that you can fold out and look at.
“But suffice to say, only in limited cases do we ever actually say what the actual years are because we never want to be tied down to a particular year and I think people assume that whenever the movie is released is when is when the movie is taking place, and that is not the case.”
Fact of the matter is that many people don’t worry too much about when things happen but rather just watch each instalment as a standalone event without worrying too much about when, where and how it ties into what went before and what lies ahead… but, let’s be honest, if you’re on this site then chances are, like us, this stuff DOES matter to you, so this would be a welcome addition to any MCU collection.
What say you all? Let us know…
