For sometime now we’ve been reporting (hoping) that there’s rubbings that the MCU could be seeing the X-Men (and by default Fantastic Four) joining their ranks in a similar vein to how Spider-man has (here).
And, if you click the link and go down the rabbit-hole (or, on this case other links beyond this one) you’ll see that there is plenty of hints that it may be a big possibility.
However, the president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, has said that, sadly, while he is friendly with the good folks at FOX, this is just not likely. Speaking with Collider, he said that everything is “the same as it has always been”, and by that he means: “We all get along, and I see them occasionally [but] There’s no change in any dynamic.”
A lot of people – yes, including us – had hoped that the new X-Men series, Legion, was the beginning of the two movie universe merging as it it produced by FOX and Marvel Studios and has Marvel’s Jep Loeb, who looks after the Netflix shows, as an executive producer. In fact Leob himself described the studios ‘building bridges’ (here) which is where the big hopes came from.
So is this a ruse? Probably not… but we still think think that at some point in the future we’ll see a big coming together.
Would you like to see them all coming together on the big screen? Or is that just a silly question?
Let us know…
