Lucasfilm to finally do a non-Star Wars/Indiana Jones movie

August 17th, 2019 by Geralt of Australia Comments

For the first time in a long time, Lucasfilm will be focusing on on a movie that isn’t Star Wars or Indiana Jones.

Since 2012 when they we’re brought out by Disney, all that they have done is release a bunch of Star Wars movies and tried to reboot Indiana Jones, well now it’s time for something  completely different.

It’s starting to look like we’ll be getting an adaption of a fantasy novel released last year called Children of Blood and Bone.

The young adult novel written by Tomi Adeyemi is set in a world where an evil king orders the culling of Maji (Wizards/Mages), we follow the story of a young orphaned Maji called Zélie, she then sets out to bring magic back into the world and strike back against the evil king.

This Is Us writer Kay Oyegun is currently in talks to write the Disney adaption, although I’ve never quite understood why you need writers to write a series about a book, I mean it’s all already written, it’s more like just adding stage directions, really.

Either way it might actually be worth getting the book and checking it out beforehand, kinda sounds like a cross between Game of Thrones and Magi, which to me sounds rather interesting, but I’ll let ya’ll decide that for yourselves.
