Now that everyone and their nerf herder has seen The Force Awakens it’s time to start listening out for all the gossip, rumours and whispers regarding the next adventure to a galaxy far, far away… Rogue One. A few little snippets have made their way online, including trailer rumours, character details and more.

Currently with the full title Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the film is a spinoff, based prior to Episode IV: A New Hope. It tells the story of the team who steal the plans of the original Death Star. But with it now being less than a year till its release, when will we be getting a glimpse of its first teaser trailer?

The wait isn’t over yet, sadly, as Star Wars Time are reporting that the trailer is to be attached to Captain America: Civil War, which will be with us on 6th May this year. It makes sense now that Disney own both the Marvel and the Star Wars trump cards (and thus your childhood), but our fingers are crossed that we get to see it before then.

It’s also possible that we know the identity of two cast members. According to Making Star Wars, Mads Mikkelsen‘s character is the Imperial scientist chiefly responsible for getting the final Death Star fully functional. A sinister role indeed. However, his guilt over building the Death Star has him reevaluate his standing:

Mads Mikkelsen (Galen appears to be his name in the film) is kind of the key to the film in a way. He is a scientist that took over the Geonosian Death Star project. He solved several of the flaws the Empire could not and is sort of a revered person in the Empire for his contributions. However, Mikkelsen’s character is a Robert Oppenheimer-type character. Oppenheimer helped design the atomic bomb only to say, “Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.” The guilt “Galen” feels for his contributions to the Empire become too much and he defects, attempting to make things right. In order to do this, he enlists the help of his only daughter…

By only daughter, it’s thought to be Felicity Jones‘ character, another scientist who must team up with the Rebels. This is, of course, still pure speculation at this point.

Not done with cast news yet, it’s being reported by Jedi News that actor Guy Henry has joined the production. Harry Potter fans will know him from the final two films, as Ministry of Magic official Pius Thickens… take a look at our picture and tell us he couldn’t be the young Grand Moff Tarkin, played by the great Peter Cushing in Star Wars: A New Hope.
