Remember a couple of weeks back we reported that Cate Blanchett could be up for a role in Thor: Ragnarok?

Well, ET and  Mark Ruffalo may have just confirmed that she is indeed set to be in it and she’ll be a villain in the proceedings.

Chatting to Hulk himself, Mark Ruffalo, about the upcoming movie, they led him into chatting about Blanchett (still ‘in talks’ as far as we know) and the actor spilled the beans. Everywhere, in fact: “I’m so thrilled. I saw her at the Governors’ banquet here and heard that maybe she was circling, they were talking to her about the part, so I ran up to her and I was like, ‘Please, please, please make this work!'” he gushed.

“She’s just one of the best, and to have her play a baddie is going to be really exciting!” he added, affirming that the actress is indeed looking like she’ll be causing all sorts of trouble for Hulk and Thor in the movie.

Oddly, the actress was on the Jimm Kimmel show as teased that she was actually up for a much more interesting role in the movie. We assume she’s kidding: Chris Hemsworth is busy, so I’ve been working out,” she joked, They’re just substituting one Australian for another. Gender equality! Why can’t you have a female Thor?”

All kidding aside, we’re confident she’ll be the new big bad in the movie and we’re excited to see her in such a role… anyone care to take an educated guess at who she’ll be? We want to hear it below…
