Marvel movie roundup: Jim Carrey or Adam Sandler in a Marvel movie? Tony Stark’s psychological state in question

January 23rd, 2013 by Marc Comments

Latino Review are claiming that Marvel are looking into the availability of actors Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler for Guardians of the Galaxy.

It’s not clear which roles they’re looking at for the duo, however SuperheroHype.com are claiming it could be loud-mouthed rodent Rocket Raccoon.

Latino are also reporting that Wes Bentley, Chris Lowell and Cam Gigandet are on the list for the Peter Quill/Star-Lord character.

Guardians of the Galaxy will be directed by James Gunn from a script by Chris McCoy and Nicole Periman, and will be released on August 1, 2014.

Meanwhile, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has talked to MTV News about Iron Man 3 and what state Tony Stark is in after the battle of New York in Avengers:  “It’s almost like post-traumatic stress: he has retreated after the events of ‘The Avengers’ into his workshop, where he’s building advanced versions of his suits. He has [designed] a version of the suit that can latch onto him in individual pieces … anytime, anywhere.

“He starts to realize [that] he doesn’t want to be out of the suit. He’s seen a lot of things in ‘Avengers’ and has encountered a lot of powerful people, much more powerful than he is.

Much of  the movie is Tony in the middle of the country without his tools and a fairly broken suit to help him. But that’s his superpower: his power is his brain. It’s fun to put Tony Stark in a corner with nothing and see how he can get out of it.”

Sounds like Iron Man 3, while fun, will have a serious story at its heart… pardon the pun

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
