One of the criticisms levelled at Zack Snyder’s upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been that it’s revealed far too much in the trailers. Yes, that is perhaps true in that we could have done without seeing Doomsday at the end of the trailer released two months ago but there’s also so much you don’t know about the film.

Two of the most persistent and exciting rumours regarding Dawn of Justice was that Jared Leto’s Joker would appear briefly and Jena Malone would play Batgirl. While they have been just rumours, they appear to have some weight behind them following a reveal of an article in a French magazine that seemingly confirms several rumours about Dawn of Justice.
As you can see above, Ezra Miller will definitely cameo as The Flash, while Michael Shannon also appears to be returning as General Zod. He died at the end of Man of Steel so expect that also to be a brief cameo in the form of a flashback. The article also confirms that Scoot McNairy is playing the Daily Planet photographer Jimmy Olsen, who works with Clark Kent and Lois Lane.
However, as there is sooo much going on in the one photo, we’re going to break down some of the most exciting reveals from the article in question.
Jena Malone as Batgirl
This was first rumoured well over a year ago now but has never been officially confirmed. In this article, she is confirmed as playing Barbara Gordon, Batgirl. Interestingly, her name does not mention a cameo anywhere so it’s possible she has a bigger role than the likes of Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher (Cyborg).
Callan Mulvey as KGBeast
Another interesting one is that of Mulvey, who has long been rumoured as playing a high-ranking LexCorp official. This article has claimed he is actually playing KGBeast, a supervillain who is primarily seen as an opponent of Batman. Perhaps Batman breaks into LexCorp, fights him and steals the Kryptonite. Whatever way he appears, it’s likely to involve some kick-ass action sequences. We reported this last year here.
Scoot McNairy as Jimmy Olsen
There’s been conflicting reports of who exactly McNairy was playing but the most popular guess seems to be the correct one; Jimmy Olsen. In stills of the movie, Olsen can be seen as a gentleman in a wheelchair underneath the Superman statue.
Jared Leto as Joker!
It would have been easy to miss, but the article also confirms that Jared Leto will appear in a flashback as the Joker. We already know that Ben Affleck’s Batman will cameo – again in a flashback – in Suicide Squad but only adds to our interest. What role will the Joker play in Dawn of Justice? It’s entirely possible it shows the Clown Prince of Crime beating down on Jason Todd, considering we saw Robin’s armour vandalised in one of the earlier trailers.
