Michael B Jordan set for the Wachowskis’ new Matrix movie?

June 24th, 2019 by Marc Comments

You may recall a few weeks back I reported that John Wick director Chad Stahelski said that the Wachowskis are set to return to The Matrix franchise (here).

And you may too recall the he soon after that the comment was taken out of context.

The comment was: “I’m super happy that the Wachowskis are not just doing a Matrix, but they’re expanding what we all loved. And if it’s anywhere near the level of what they’ve already done, it wouldn’t take more than a call to go, ‘Hey, we want you to be a stunt guy’ and I would probably go and get hit by a car.”

Seems pretty certain to me, but we all know people make mistakes.

However…

A new rumour has it that a new Matrix movie is being written by Zak Penn and the Wachowskis are returning to directing duties and it will star Creed and Black Panther star Michael B Jordan.

On top of that, word is the new movie will start filming in early 2020 in Chicago under the working title “Project Ice Cream”.

Hugh Bateup, art director on The Matrix in 1999 is returning too.

Although there’s no word on if this is a sequel or a reboot, I reckon The Matrix is one of the rare franchises that allows both to happen in the same movie.

I’m pretty excited about this… what do you all say?
