Michael Giacchino wants to do the score for The Batman as Ben Affleck reportedly gets back to the gym

May 6th, 2017 by Marc Comments

It looks like Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino may be putting his hat in the ring to score The Batman.

Speaking at the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 the composer was asked if he’d be interested in doing Batman and he enthusiastically replied: “Yeah, it depends on who’s making it and who’s involved, but yeah I would love to. I love Batman.”

You can watch the interview below, although he doesn’t comment any more, however, given that he’s work with Matt Reeves, the director of The Batman, on projects such as Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes it’s not out of the question that the duo (dynamic) might work together again.

Giacchino is already a bit of a Nerd favourite with movies such as Rogue One, Dr Strange and Super 8 under his belt so we’d definitely be up for him taking the reigns. If Danny Elfman is busy, that is…

In related news, Umberto Gonzalez over at Heroic Insider is reporting that Ben Affleck is already back in training for filming on The Batman: “Ben Affleck, Batman, I just got word that he just started training again for the role,.

“You know how there was talk that he was gonna leave and he might leave the role? Nah, bro. He’s working out. He’s getting back in shape.”

Adding to the speculation that the movie could be filming before the end of this year, he added “usually it takes an actor three to six months or more to get into the kind of shape”.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
