It seems that fan favourite DC/Milestone Comics character Static Shock is set to come to the big screen at last.
And it has some big names behind it.
Black Panther star Micheal B Jordan is set to produce the movie with scribe Reginald Hudlin.
Jordan, who it was speculated a while back may have been being considered by Warner Brothers to take over the Superman role had Henry Cavill really been out, said: “I’m proud to be a part of building a new universe centered around black superheroes; our community deserves that.
“Outlier Society is committed to bringing to life diverse comic book content across all platforms and we are excited to partner with Reggie and Warner Bros on this initial step.”
According to THR: “Outlier will be in the creative center of the Static feature and for Jordan, a comic book fan, this is an opportunity for not only for some world-building but to be directly involved in franchise-building. Should the first movie spark a hit, a multi-platform franchise could be born.”
So, a Static Shock cinematic universe? Will it be part of the wider DCEU? Who knows…
This follows on from the DC Fandome reveal that Milestone Comics was making a return (here).
