So, adding to all the Spider-man movie to Sony again/no-longer in the MCU stuff, it seems that the rumours some time ago that Tom Holland may have been in Venom has some validity.
If true, this might explain director Rubin Fleischer’s reluctance to respond to the rumours at the time (here).
We’ve always ascertained that there would be a connection between the Sony Spider-man movies and the MCU (here) and now Collider member Jay Washington had this to say: “I’ll tell you the truth: Tom Holland did film a scene for Venom. Marvel saw the movie and was like ‘Take this out. Take this scene out.”
He also made clear that it was Peter Parker NOT Spider-man who was in the movie.
Now, we also know that Tom Holland himself said he was due to appear in animated form in Into The Spider-verse (here).
This is all very interesting as it seems to confirm that Sony were pushing and pushing to tie the worlds together while Marvel were having none of it.
This all seems to to point to Sony really just wanting Spider-man back. And now it looks like, unless something big happens, they have him.
Thoughts on this, guys?
