Oh, boy… here we go again.
So we’ve speculated for ages about how the Sony Marvel Universe that kick off next month with Venom will be connected to the MCU (here) and only a couple of weeks ago it was revealed that the previously touted as being gory and adult as heck Venom would be toned down to allow for the hope that some day the MCU characters would eventually meet with Venom and friends, especially Spider-man (here).
And now this.
In a new interview Zombieland and Venom director Ruben Fleischer was asked outright if Spider-man would be in Venom and, rather than the expected ‘nope’ he got a little more creative.
“I honestly don’t know what I’m allowed to say,” he replied.
“I mean, I know the answer — I’ve seen the movie. But I don’t want to get in trouble for saying something I’m not supposed to.”
Now, sure, he could be toying with us… and most likely is… but honestly, I think I’ll be disappointed if Spidey ISN’T in the movie.
We all know that Tom Holland was on the set of Venom a while ago (here) and we also know that so long as there’s a Venom then the fans will want him to be connected to Spider-man… and the MCU as a whole and with talk earlier of Blade possibly heading to the MCU soon (we’ll believe it when we see it) we reckon that there’s numerous ways to tie it all together…
We’ll all know on October 5th.
Thoughts on Venom and Spider-man meeting next month? let us know.
