With the Marvel\Sony reboot of Spider-Man comes a new actor in the lead role – Tom Holland.  But what will the new spidey-suit look like?

IGN recently spoke with Marvel CCO Joe Quesada who revealed that he had indeed seen the new redesigned suit. “It looks awesome. I’ve seen a lot of design work that’s been done on the costume. I think there are elements of it that are really going to blow people away, where they are going to go ‘Ah, that’s Marvel doing Spider-Man.’… It’s Spider-Man. What’s not exciting about that? I can’t imagine there’s a person on planet Earth that can’t relate to some aspect of Spider-Man or Peter Parker, and he is for all intents and purposes, he is Marvel’s Mickey Mouse. He is that icon of so much of what we have was built upon, so to create that movie along with our Sony partners it’s phenomenally exciting. I know Kevin Feige and his team, they’ve some great ideas, some wonderful theories that we have all chimed in on. What’s funny about Spider-Man is that you sit there and you’re at a creative meeting and everybody goes ‘Well what about this? Yeah, of course! That’s what we should be doing, that’s Spider-Man!’ We all seem to be of the same mind about Spider-Man, because there are certain aspects of the character that are just iconic and have been perfect since the moment they were created.”

So there you have it, and being a former artist on the Spider-Man comic book, Quesada’s praise definitely carries some weight although exactly how spectacular this new suit will be remains to be seen – after all, it’s pretty much going to be just a tight spandex suit isn’t it?  You can watch him discussing all things Marvel with IGN in the video below, with the Spider-Man related footage beginning at 4 minutes in. Spider-Man in his new spider-suit is set to swing in to the MCU in next year’s Captain America: Civil War.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
